Four steps from old provider
to fully live on Clearvo

We've designed the migration process to remove every reason to delay. No big-bang cutover, no compliance risk, no lost data.

01

Export your data

Export your invoice history and customer records from your current provider as CSV or JSON. We support exports from Avalara, Vertex, Fonoa, Sovos, Pagero, and most other platforms — our migration tool auto-detects the format.

You do: export from current provider. We do: auto-map fields to Clearvo's data model.
02

Validate before committing

Our migration tool runs a full dry-run on your imported data — checking VAT numbers, required fields per country, invoice sequence integrity, and compliance rules — before a single invoice is submitted to a tax authority.

You get: a validation report with pass/fail per invoice, actionable error descriptions, and an estimated time to fix.
03

Run in parallel

Enable dual-submission mode: your API calls go to Clearvo, and we mirror submissions to your current provider simultaneously. Compare outputs, verify parity, and build confidence before committing. Most customers run parallel for one to two weeks.

You control: when to end parallel mode. No pressure, no deadline from us.
04

Cut over

Update your API base URL to Clearvo. Disable your old provider. Done. Invoice sequence continuity is maintained, your historical data is searchable, and all country credentials are already configured from your onboarding.

API change: one line — your existing invoice payload structure works as-is or with minimal mapping.

We know how the other providers export data

Each provider has its own export format. We've built importers for all of them so you don't have to manually reformat anything.

Fonoa
Auto-detects Fonoa JSON export format. Maps invoice lines, tax codes, and customer identifiers to Clearvo's CDM.
JSON · CSV
Sovos
Supports Sovos batch CSV and API export. Country-specific fields (IT SDI, PL KSeF) mapped automatically.
CSV · XML
Pagero
Imports Pagero UBL/PEPPOL format exports. Business network registrations migrated during onboarding.
UBL · CSV
Avalara
Supports Avalara AvaTax transaction exports. Tax codes, exemption certificates, and invoice history all imported to Clearvo.
JSON · CSV
Vertex
Imports Vertex transaction logs and invoice exports. Field mapping handles Vertex's tax category and jurisdiction model.
XML · CSV
Other providers
Not on this list? We support generic CSV import with a manual field mapping step. Bring us your export and we'll handle it.

Migration questions

Will there be any gap in my e-invoicing compliance?
No. The parallel running period ensures invoices are submitted to tax authorities by your old provider while Clearvo is being verified. Once you cut over, there is no gap — submissions continue uninterrupted.
What happens to my historical invoice data?
We import your full invoice history into Clearvo so it's searchable and auditable alongside new invoices. Invoice sequence numbers are preserved to maintain continuity for tax authority records.
How much does my API integration need to change?
Minimal. The core invoice payload structure (invoice number, buyer, seller, line items, tax amounts) is standard across providers. Most customers need to change one base URL and handle a small number of field renames. We provide a migration guide specific to your current provider.
What about country-specific credentials — SDI, KSeF, VeriFactu?
Country credentials (Italy SDI, Poland KSeF, Spain VeriFactu, etc.) are configured during onboarding. Our team guides you through each country and can transfer existing credentials where the authority allows it.
How long does the migration typically take?
End to end: 2–4 weeks. The first week is data import and validation. The second week is parallel running. Cut-over typically happens at the start of a new billing period for simplicity. Larger volumes or more countries may extend this slightly.
Do I need to sign a new contract before migrating?
You can start the migration process and run in parallel before signing anything. We want you to be confident Clearvo works for your use case before you commit. Sign when you're ready to cut over.
